So this kind of feels like the first day of 7th grade after moving to a new town. I'm actually nervous introducing myself. Gosh I hope I don't misspell something or drool on myself. Here it goes...
I am :
Ashley Willis.
From Utah.
Marketer, dancer, learner, and laugher.
Wife of aspiring physician.
Terrified and excited about spending the next decade as a medical school tag a long.
My husband, Blair, is in the process of doing interviews for medical school right now. In his spare time, he works every day at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital from 2:30 to 11:30 at night. He's had this work schedule for the past several months. Most of the time I just deal with it and try to stay busy once I get home from work. But sometimes it's achingly lonely and I find myself wondering how I can stand 10 years without spending more time with my husband. I've read through a few of your posts and I must say that I think you are all AMAZING. I'm pretty much here to grab a hold of your hands and let you teach me how to not just make it through this experience but LOVE IT :) Thanks for inviting me. I'm excited to get to know you all.

Hi! I am from Utah too. My husband is in his second year of medical school. We are in Iowa. Good luck to you and your husband!
You'll be fine! In med school, your husband will find a routine and routine and structure certainly help with family time too. They cannot study 24 hours a day, they have to eat, need to exercise and so these are things that you can do together (i.e. we take walks and eat supper together every night- that helps a lot!)
Plus, look for a support system when you go to med school- that has made a HUGE difference for me- having a church and a group of girls walking through this season with me!
Youre adorable! Thanks for joining. Hopefully this is a lot easier than 7th grade! And good news - Im horrible at spelling and grammer .. so no judgement there!
Where is your husband looking at going? I guess its still early? I know every school is different! If you ever want advice on interviews and that whole bit Cam (jennings secede) can probably share some wisdom! She works in admissions. :)
I ditto her comment on finding a support system when you get there! Its made a WORLD of difference here.
Cant wait to hear more about the interviews and how everything goes the next few months!
So Blair's first interview is actually this coming Thursday! Yikes. He'll be interviewing at George Washington University. Cam, we would love to get your advice on interviews. That seems like such a broad request, but anything you can give us would be helpful advice. After that, he has a couple of D.O. school interviews in January at Kirksville and AZCOM. We're still waiting to hear back from 15 other schools so I'll keep you all posted ;)
Hey can I be added to the list of "posters"? Id like to share a few things but Im not technically savvy so I dont know if I can just post something. Please email me at sharylevans@gmail.com. Gracias!
